Minneapolis – Companies seeking to take advantage of the value of e-labeling for regulated products face enormous challenges in managing content, controlling versions, publishing regulated information and maximizing new technologies. KJ International, a global leader in translation services for regulated industries, introduces a proprietary software application to address these challenges while ensuring companies maintain compliance with complex international regulations.

The application can be customized to integrate with a company’s proprietary or several industry content management system (CMS) or enterprise management system (EMS).  This integration allows seamless localization and validation capabilites, within client specific workflows.  By automating and streamlining these processes, and eliminating the inevitable human errors, the system enables companies to reduce the risks of shifting to e-labeling for appropriate products in appropriate markets.

“The trend globally is to move towards e-labeling for regulated products,” notes Kristen Giovanis, Managing Director of KJI. “One challenge, though, is that regulation moves at different paces for different kinds of products and in geographically dispersed markets. The standard for pharmaceuticals is not the same as it is for medical devices, and the standard in the European Union is not the same as it is in the US. Companies have two choices: wait for regulatory alignment and risk missing opportunities, or move now toward e-labeling and risk regulatory missteps.”

With KJI’s proprietary application, companies can position themselves to implement e-labeling now, while reducing the risks of creating regulatory problems. At the same time, they achieve the cost and process savings of a more automated CMS environment. The application also integrates with KJI’s secure online project management system, through which clients can submit jobs, view and approve estimates, generate standard and custom reports and manage their entire portfolio of translation and localization projects.

KJI has a history of staying ahead of the trends in technology, regulation and global business. Giovanis regularly speaks at international events on the related areas of regulation, technology, e-labeling and translation, and her articles on these and other topics have appeared in RAPS Focus, European Regulatory Affairs, and several other leading industry publications.  KJI’s client base includes Johnson & Johnson, Tyco International and Smith and Nephew, for which the company provides full-service translation, including consulting on regulations and technologies relating to translation and content management.
