About Janna Lundberg, Operations
Manager
 Janna Lundberg
has personal knowledge of the role cultural differences play
in effective communication;
she grew up in
the former Soviet Union, emigrating to the United States when
she was 9 years old. Out of that experience grows a unique
skill in being able to identify unspoken needs and requirements. “For
Russians, communication is very simple in some ways – we
say what we mean,” she notes. “With Americans in
particular, it can be more complex to determine what exactly
a client is saying or asking for.” As co-founder and
project manager for KJI, Janna is able to draw on this skill
to draw out unspoken and even unconscious needs and requirements,
and then find the right resources to fill them.
A skilled resource manager,
Janna has developed a global network of over 20,000 independent
language consultants
with fluency
in more than 85 languages and dialects. She was instrumental
in establishing and growing KJI’s Brussels branch; her
extensive travel throughout Europe, Asia and South America
enables her to hand-select in-country translators and develop
close working relationships with them.
Among Janna’s accomplishments
at KJI is the development of the online project management
system.
She also spearheads
the training and mentoring of other KJI project managers to
ensure quality control in all aspects of customer projects.
Janna has worked extensively
with Fortune 500 clients in industries such as pharmaceuticals,
medical
device, manufacturing and
technology. As project manager, she handles the multitude of
details while maintaining close, personal relationships with
clients and consultants alike. “Relationships are key,
both with our clients and our translators,” she notes. “We
have structure; we have process; but we’re always willing
and able to make accommodations to find the best way to accomplish
a project and achieve the client’s goal.”
Janna is a member of the American Translation
Association, the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society,
and the Local
Industry Standards Association. She is earning an MBA from
Capella University and holds degrees from the University of
Minnesota (B.A. in Sociology) and St. Mary’s College
(M.S. in Psychology).
